The View of Professionals

Michal Horváth, Research Fellow at Nuffield College, University of Oxford:  “Slovakia is in grave need of a voice in order to convey their vision in European affairs. The Center for European Affairs provides a platform for various voices to be heard and ideas to be scrutinized in pursuit of a forward- and outward-looking vision for Europe and Slovakia..”

Vazil Hudák, State Secretary, Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic: “For Slovakia, the union of the EU and the Eurozone is absolutely vital.  The economic aspects of development in this region are critical, as they have a direct impact on the daily lives of Slovak citizens. It is vital to have a platform in Slovakia for quality discussions about the situation and challenges in the EU and the Eurozone, but also about visions and perspectives. CEA plays a key role in creating this space for creative thinking! As an independent institution with experience in organizing projects and conferences, as well as with its own analytical base, CEA has the ability to engage the best minds in Slovakia and in the European Union in a discussion and an exchange of opinions.”

Peter Javorčík, State Secretary, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic: “The EU is currently facing critical economic, financial and political challenges. The process of building a genuine EMU might result in profound reforms that will reshape the European project. While our strategic goal is to remain at the very core of European integration, ongoing reforms in the EU need to be explained to the public. The Center for European Affairs (CEA), which represents a unique platform to foster expert and public discussions on European affairs in Slovakia, plays an irreplaceable role in this regard.“
